For the next-oldest age group, those aged 35-44, the number of owner-occupiers dropped by over 1.1 million, while the number of private renters increased by approximately 500,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Impact on Renters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These changes have a significant impact on the private rental market, and also mean that buy-to-let landlords must take increased measures to protect their properties.
