The outcome turned less on what actually happened to a building than on who could prove it.
Imfuna was founded in 2009 by Jax Kneppers, a forensic engineer and expert witness who spent his career examining properties after things had already gone wrong. The records that reached him were paper checklists, loose photos and recollections - assembled after the fact, easy to challenge, expensive to defend.
So he built the tool that would have saved him: a way to capture the condition of a property thoroughly enough, and verifiably enough, that the record could speak for itself.
